There are many ways to get involved with the organization. Specific committees are listed below, however, please feel free to contact the Steering Committee at any time if you have a specific interest that is not listed.

Program Committee

The Program Committee is made up of volunteers who attend the ResNet conference from universities and colleges across North America and abroad. There are specific roles that need to be filled from year to year, including Theme Guides, Activities Coordinators, Assistant Program Chairs, and the Program Committee Chairperson role itself. For a detailed listing of volunteers needed during a ResNet conference, see the volunteer positions article.

Some of the program committee roles are filled through succession planning of the Steering Committee, while others are drawn from a general call for volunteers through the ResNet list-serv. The Program Committee Chairperson is the coordinator of the roles and responsibilities for Program Committee members. If individuals are interested in participating with the committee, they are welcome to contact the current Program Committee Chairperson at any time to indicate their interest.

ResNet Applied Research Group (RARG)

The ResNet Applied Research Group is seeking two types of assistance from the ResNet community. Please contact us if you can help with either of the following:

  • Feedback: Is our research useful to you? How are you using it? How can we improve it? What future research would be most useful?
  • Assistance: The RARG is a volunteer organization. Please volunteer if you would like to join us and help with any aspect of our research, including literature review, survey development, data analysis, publication, and presentation.

Information Resources Committee

The Information Resources Committee is chaired by the Information Resources Chairperson. This committee's responsibilities are outlined as below from the ResNet Charter:

The Information Services Committee is responsible for maintaining and advancing the on-line presence of the Organization and its resources, maintaining informational databases and media beneficial to those interested in information related to supporting residential communities, and archiving & making electronically available the historical records of the Organization.

Current duties include upkeep of the wiki and Symposium website and providing feedback for future information resource needs. If you would like to help with this committee, please contact the Information Resources Chairperson.
